Give a category a validity period and every credential issued under it inherits an expiry date. Nothing is entered twice, and nothing is left blank to reconstruct later.

The ladder runs daily in the background. Holders are warned early, managers are brought in as the date closes, and your compliance owner is told the moment anything lapses.
Status keeps itself current
Records move between Active, Expiring Soon and Expired on their own dates. What you see on any given morning is what is actually true that morning.

What software sends compliance reminders before certificates expire?
CertLister does, on a schedule you set. Each category carries its own reminder ladder — typically 90, 60, 30 and 14 days before expiry, plus a notice on the day itself. Reminders go to the credential holder, and from 30 days you can copy their manager so cover can be arranged. Every send is logged against the credential.
How do I track certification expiry dates automatically?
Set the expiry date when the credential is issued and the rest is automatic. The register recalculates days remaining every day, moves records between Active, Expiring Soon and Expired on their own, and fires the reminder ladder without anyone opening the system.
Can managers see certification status at a glance?
Yes. The dashboard shows counts by status across the whole register and by category, so you can see which team or certification type is drifting before it becomes a compliance gap. Any column can be filtered and exported.
What happens when a certification expires?
The status flips to Expired automatically on the expiry date, an escalation notice goes to your compliance owner, and the record stays in the register rather than disappearing. Public verification of that credential shows Expired, so nobody can present a lapsed certification as current.
Can I track contractor and subcontractor qualification expiry?
Yes. Contractors do not need an account — you hold the records, and their qualifications appear in the same register as employees. Reminders can be addressed to the contractor, to your internal owner, or both.
Does this help with audit preparation?
That is what the register is for. Filter to any date range, category or status and export the result. Because each reminder is logged, the export shows not just what was current but who was notified and when — the part auditors usually ask about after the certificate list.
Which plans include expiry tracking?
All of them, including the free plan. Expiry dates, status tracking and the reminder ladder are not gated. Higher plans raise the credential volume and add automation depth, not the ability to track expiry.
