CertLister account settings page

Account Settings

Time to read: 8 minutes

Overview

The Settings page is your control center for everything related to your account, organization, and subscription. Open it from the sidebar or go directly to https://app.certlister.com/settings.

Settings are organized into nine tabs. Use the ?tab= URL parameter to deep-link to any tab directly (e.g. …/settings?tab=team).

Profile

Manage your personal account details.

  • Name — Update your display name. This appears in the admin interface and in team activity logs.
  • Email — Your login email is read-only. Contact support if you need to change it.
  • Password — Enter your current password, then set a new one. Passwords must be at least 8 characters. Not available for accounts created via Google OAuth.

Security

Control how your account is protected beyond the password.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

CertLister supports email-based one-time passwords (OTP). When MFA is enabled:

  1. You enter your password as normal
  2. A 6-digit code is sent to your email
  3. Enter the code to complete sign-in. Codes expire after 10 minutes.

To enable MFA:

  1. Go to Settings → Security
  2. Toggle Enable MFA
  3. Confirm with your current password

To disable MFA:

  1. Go to Settings → Security
  2. Toggle off Enable MFA
  3. Confirm with your current password

Note: Google OAuth accounts are exempt from MFA — Google handles authentication security for those sign-ins.

Organization

Configure your organization's public-facing profile.

  • Logo — Upload a PNG or JPG. Displayed on the public verification page and in credential emails. Basic plan and above.
  • Organization Name — The name shown to credential recipients on the verify page and in emails.
  • Website URL — Optional. Shown as a link on the verify page when the issuer info section is enabled.
  • Industry — Optional. Shown in the issuer trust section on the verify page.
  • Company Size — Optional. Internal use only.

Changes take effect immediately on all verification pages.

Customization

Fine-tune how your credentials and verification pages look and behave.

Brand Color

Choose a primary color used on your public verification page and embeddable widget. Basic plan and above.

Verification URL

Set a custom slug for your public verify page (e.g. certlister.com/verify/your-slug/). The slug must be unique across all organizations. Basic plan and above.

Issuer Information

Toggle whether your organization's name, logo, industry, and stats are shown to visitors on the verify page. Available on all plans.

Verification Search Form

Control which fields appear on your public verification form (visible on your verify page and embed widget).

  • Recipient Name Search — When enabled (default), visitors can search by recipient name in addition to credential number. Disable this if you want to restrict searches to credential number only — for example, for privacy reasons or when recipient names are sensitive. Available on all plans.

"Powered by CertLister" Branding

Hide the "Powered by CertLister" footer from your verification page and embeddable widget. Pro plan only. On Free and Basic, this footer is always visible.

Email Customization

  • Reply-To Address — Credential emails sent to recipients will use this address as the reply-to. Useful if recipients may have questions. Basic plan and above.
  • Email Footer Text — Add a custom line of text at the bottom of every outgoing credential email (e.g. support contact, website). Basic plan and above.

Credential Numbering

Control how credential numbers are generated.

SettingDescriptionPlan
PrefixText prepended to every credential number (e.g. CERT-)Basic+
ModeSequential (auto-incrementing) or randomSequential: Pro
PaddingZero-pad sequential numbers to a fixed length (e.g. 0042)Basic+

Note: Changing the prefix or padding only affects newly issued credentials. Existing credential numbers are not updated.

Plan & Billing

View your current plan, track usage, and manage your subscription.

For full details on plans, pricing, upgrading, and downgrading, see the Plans & Billing help article.

Quick links:

  • Upgrade / Change Plan — Select a new plan and billing cycle
  • Manage Billing — Opens the Stripe Customer Portal for payment method updates and invoice history
  • Usage meters — See credentials, team members, designs, and categories used vs. your plan limits

Field Labels

Rename any standard credential field across the entire application. Pro plan only.

Examples:

  • Rename Recipient Name → "Student Name"
  • Rename Credential Number → "Certificate ID"
  • Rename Expiry Date → "Valid Until"

Custom labels appear everywhere the field is shown: the credentials table, edit dialogs, CSV export headers, and the public verify page. The underlying data and API identifiers are unchanged.

To reset a label to its default, clear the field and save.

Danger Zone

Irreversible actions that affect your account or organization.

Leave Organization

Available to non-Admin members. Removes your access to the organization immediately. If you are the only Admin, you must assign another Admin first.

Delete Account

Available to organization Admins only. Permanently deletes:

  • Your organization and all its data (credentials, categories, designs, files)
  • All team member accounts associated with the organization
  • All generated PDFs and uploaded assets in storage

This action cannot be undone. You will be asked to type your organization name to confirm.

Note: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Stripe subscription. Cancel your subscription first from Settings → Billing → Manage Billing, then delete your account.
